Heywood-Wakefield bedroom seta

My husband — fiancĂ© at the time — purchased a Heywood-Wakefield bedroom design set in 1945. It was featured in the store window of Scruggs-Vandervoort-Barney in St. Louis.
I believe the bedroom design pieces were priced at $300. We had just celebrated V-E Day and V-J Day was a few months off. My husband, then a lieutenant, expected to be sent to the South Pacific. When he was able to muster out in December 1945, we took possession of thebedroom design furniture and it has been in use ever since.
We have four children and have moved five times. The bedroom design furniture is solidly built but it has signs of wear.
Its a real charming story. The Heywood-Wakefield Furniture Company began when five brothers from Gardener, Mass., began to build chairs in their barn..
