James Seaward has left the BAMA on the 20 April 2009, he and his students have formed a new school called SHINDO MARTIAL ARTS. Below is a short message of explanation from James.
“I trained for 13 years within the ‘Bushido Academy of Martial Arts’ and as a professional Instructor for the BAMA I ran the Hereford, Ross on Wye and Forest of Dean dojos, building an established and earned reputation for quality and high standards. However recent events have revealed truths of a negative nature concerning the BAMA, confirming longstanding suspicions, of which I was encouraged not to give voice to. Therefore I had no option but to leave as I could not remain loyal to something I could no longer trust, and I must continue to teach what I believe to be the underlying principles of the Martial Arts; Honour, Integrity, Fellowship and Loyalty, and to maintain that what and how we teach in the Hereford, Ross and Forest Dojos remains of the highest caliber.” James Seaward
This is not a ‘breakaway’ nor is it a show of disloyalty. If those in power at the BAMA had not abused the revered agreement between student and instructor James Seaward and students would not have left. There is a wealth of independent information on the web regarding issues such as these.
